so i want to wear somthing that will sorta match the job. its a small (not franchise) boutique near my house that is veryvery small. im guesssing that whoever is working will be the owner or somone close to it, so i want to make a good impression, even though im just asking if they are hiring...
what should i wear? i was thinking about wearing these nice dark jeans with gold beaded wedges, a ivory tank with a brown sweater ish ting over it and gold jewlry, but my mom thinks jeans are to casual, even though they are really nice jeans. so then my second choise was a cute dress, it stops right above my knees and the whole thing has this tourqouise pattern on it. but i dont know what shoes i would wear with it! if i did wear pants, what type should u wear? or a skirt maybe?? i dont really know.
please only serious answers from people who will actually help me with this question, i know its just to talk to the lady and see if they are hiring but i really want the first impression to be good, you can o ly make a first impression once...
thank you!Im going into a store to pick up and application but i want to make a good first impression on them....?
If its a boutique, priority would be on 1) be fashionable and 2) matching the style of clothes they have in the store.
If you were a salesperson at the store, you would want to replicate the looks you are selling, so customers will see the clothes in action and like them. So try that approach for the app pickup. If they sell high end jean, you can wear high end jeans. When picking up the app, note the outfit the owner/manager is wearing, then wear something similar when you come back for your interview!!
Good Luck!!Im going into a store to pick up and application but i want to make a good first impression on them....?
be yourself, and look neat.
what you wear immediately tells what your personality is.
wear something to match your personality.
if you're the nice, fun loving one, wear something with bright colors, but not too bright and some jeans, if you wear them.
match their boutique if you want. wear one of their clothes. or wear some of your own, that looks like it's from their boutique.
just act like your normal self. if you want to give them a great impression, compliment them (don't make it too obvious by throwing a bunch of compliments, haha)
always smile!
wear what you feel, make sure it matches.
wearing a nice top, with denim jeans/capris or even a non-denim skirt. and some nice flats would do. NO FLIP FLOPS :)
hmmm, and always remember to say you are a diligent worker and will try hard to keep the boutique a friendly and wonderful place.
and don't forget! every store who is hiring are always looking for friendly people that are friendly to other customers. so always smile, and prove you are right for the job.
best of luck,
x
Don't go plain Jane but don't go over the top. Wear something that will make it look like you belong in the store. Ask for the manager to get the application, and ask some questions about the store what is required. Be polite and confident, and thank them for your time. Call up and check on the application and show you are determined. If they call back and say they aren't hiring, write a letter saying you thank them for taking the time to call, and will re-apply later, not to pushy just polite. This will show you care. I did this when I was denied an interview at a restaurant and got a call the same day I dropped off the letter and got an interview. Be confident and good luck!

How do I make up for a poor undergrad GPA in graduate school application?
I got a 3.0 GPA in undergrad and I intend to apply to grad school (PhD) in a biomedical field. Can I make up for it with a good GRE score (e.g. 1300+)?
What other ways can I make up for it in the grad school application? How do I make up for a poor undergrad GPA in graduate school application?
Volunteer at hospitals, show commitment and interest. And definitely aim for a high GRE Score.

CPU makes noise when i open a new application or program or i scroll the page up & Down?
Sounds like the noise might be coming from the Hard-drive, not the cpu. Some hardrives are just noisy, but you may be low on memory, if every mouse movement causes the harddrive to thrash.CPU makes noise when i open a new application or program or i scroll the page up %26amp; Down?

SHOULD I MAKE A FOLLOW UP CALL? (JOB APPLICATIONS)?
I've turned in job apps at Tillys, aeropostale, ect. Should I make a follow up call? What should I ask for the manager when calling?SHOULD I MAKE A FOLLOW UP CALL? (JOB APPLICATIONS)?
Yes, give a call about a week after applying asking them if they have had time to review your application/resume. It shows determination and could be the difference in getting a interview or not.SHOULD I MAKE A FOLLOW UP CALL? (JOB APPLICATIONS)?
I would wait about a week or so after you've turned them in and call. When you get the manager, just ask them ';My name is ____ and i was wondering if you have gotten a chance to look at my job application yet';. It will show them that you are serious about working for them.

I just went through the application process this past year. One of the best things you can do is write a good statement of purpose. Concise, and personal to the program you're applying to.
A professional once told me that they use the GRE scores as the first cut basis, after that they go through the applicant files. The first start is your name and your score. Then your file has all your letters of rec and your statement of purpose and your college transcripts. People who have 4.0 GPAs often have their choice of Universities. You should apply to at least 10 Universities. Although it'll be pricey, you ensure that you have a competative selection of schools, and in your field, you need that. Best of luck to you.
Might I suggest Penn State as an option for you. One of the best and well funded programs on the East Coast. ;o)

Make-up application?
Well I have Maybelline Dream Matt Powder in Rose Ivory and Maybelline Wonder Finish in Nude (I have quite fair skin). I have bumpy, spotty, oily, dry skin ( LOL, i know!). I will want to apply these both to my face for the most flawless finish i could get. Then on my eyes i have maybelline expert eyes, crayon oriental in Esmerald (dark blue, as i have blue eyes) and also Victorias secret beauty rush silver glitter eyeliner. I was wondering what i could do with both of these to make my eyes look pretty, but not OTT. Thanks so much!
I want to emphasise my eyes aswell.Make-up application?
hey, the only true way to get flawless makeup is by first improving ur skin care routine. you gotta get rid of spots and blemishes first to look good!
the best way to emphasise ur eyes is by going for the natural look and skin and using classic, not overdone eyemakeup. eyeshadow can look tacky sometimes. go for these looks:

yeah good luck lol!Make-up application?
first off, try just washing your face with a wet wash cloth that is rough (scrub the bad skin away). then, find a good alcohol base type gel that has moisturizures in it. the matt powder will dry out and irritate your skin. i had the same problem, so i swiched to the mousse. put on very little of the eyeliner, and an even smaller amount of shadow allo ver your eyelid, then put it on heave right on top of your eye(the eyeball skin cover only).
For going out, i'd say use a white/pearl shimer eyeshadow as a base coat
Then the navy up to aboout half wa, lightening then the silver eye liner on top of your eye lid
Also try just white shimmer with the silver :)
%26amp;%26amp; for your face, try exfoliating more %26amp; use nose strips regurly to get rid of the spots
Start moissturizing more frequently to lose the dry sploges
When you havnt got school or ar'nt going out, leave youe make up off
To get rid of oil, ust rince your face mroe often
Then in time, everthing shoudl sort out:)
Good luck x

Make-up application question?
Right well, i have a few questions, just in general, how you apply it and stuff, cause i think i do it differently to others.
Lip Liner:
I put on vaseline (just a bit) to make it less chapped, and then go around the outside [of the lip] and colour it in, then i put on a lip gloss [or lipstick] which is the same colour or clear.
Bronzer:
I put it on using the E3 motion but also put it along my nose, forehead and chin. Basically like a face powder.
Highlighter:
I dont have it, but can i just use it like a blusher? On the apples of my cheeks + cheekbones?
Eye shadow:
I cant put it on my crease, as im asian and dont have the socket eyes look, and have a tiny space between my lash line and crease, should i just not bother putting anything there?
I also put on a skin color eyeshadow base with or without other colours from my lash line to brow bone, is this ok?
Sorry, just wanted to know Have i got the right way of putting it on?Make-up application question?
Hi there hun,
I'm Asian also! I'm a Makeup Artist and I used to work with MAC. Right now, I'm just an Independent Makeup Artist.
For lips, nothing to worry about. You've got it done correctly!
For bronzer, that's a famous technique, that's actually how I apply my bronzers on my clients sometimes. So good job with that!
Now for highlighting, it depends on what kind of color it is that you can use it as a blusher or not. If it's a bit dark enough you absolutely can use it as a blush. If it's just for plain old highlighting, apply this above your apples of your cheeks, a bit on the bridge of your nose, middle of forehead, and even under your brows for highlighting your eyebrows. :o)
For eyeshadow, you can actually ';fake a crease'; ;o)
Here's how:
Just take whatever dark eyeshadow you're using for your look and gently sweep from outer corner in about halfway, where you said you have ';the tiny space between your lash line and crease'; Make sure you blend it well, for an even gradual finish. So blend, blend, blend!
Don't be sorry! I'm sure you'll get it right this time! Good luck hun!Make-up application question?
sounds good, i think highlighter can work in several different places... like cheeks, eyes, and lips.
Lip Liner:
From the sounds of it, you got it. The only suggestion I would make is instead of filling in your entire lips, only fill the center of your bottom lip and the corners of your top lip. Then apply lip gloss or lipstick of the same color scheme. It will help give your lips more shape.
Bronzer:
Good job! Just go lighter on your forehead, chin and nose as you don't want to overkill.
Highlighter:
Yes, same idea as blush. Always leave two finger spaces between your nose and cheeks. It gives a much more coordinated look.
Eyeshadow:
It's ok that you have smaller eyelids! I've worked with a lot of the ';creaseless'; eyelids and they have just as much potential as ';the socket eyes look.'; The skin color eyeshadow from lash line to brow bone is the exact right thing to do. Actually it can be any color that is lighter then the rest of your eyeshadow colors you are using that day.
Sounds like you got it down girl! Just keep doing what you do, you got this :)

by applying them. Do u know how to use these if not then redo ur queston and ask and i will answer.
Just use them the areas they r meant to use and u will have a fresh look. remember not to use too much of glitter eye shadow cos it is supposed to be a fresh look.
Just apply them and u get ur fresh look
Best of Luck
you can add light shade of colour gloss and eye liner also
First apply concealer in areas that is needed such as blemishes, acne, etc.
Then, apply a thin layer of translucent powder all over your face by using circular strokes.
Apply glitter eyeshadow only on your eyelid. Don't go over the crease line. Apply a little on the outer corners of your eye on the bottom.
Then, apply mascara to your eyelashes using ';zig zag'; strokes. If you can, curl your eyelashes after for ten seconds each. Lastly, apply clear gloss to your lips.
I hope I helped. :]asp hosting

Looking for an application for windows that makes your icons on your desktop zoomed up like it does for Mac's?
I've seen some people in my area talk about it, not sure what it called but for Apple's Mac (If you have ever used one) you would know that some of the icons on you desktop are on the bottom of your monitor and if you want to put your mouse over the icon it basically zoomes up close close and makes the icon much much bigger.
So basically to sum everything up I'm looking for an application that does that for a microsoft computer.
Thanks again!Looking for an application for windows that makes your icons on your desktop zoomed up like it does for Mac's?

I sent in an application to volunteer, its been like three weeks, should I make a follow up call?
Well I emailed it to them about three weeks ago, and haven't heard anything. Should I make a follow-up call?
What should I say? I've never applied for anything other than like..clubs at school. lol So this is my first time sending in a real application to some place. I don't know what to do or say...I sent in an application to volunteer, its been like three weeks, should I make a follow up call?
Definitely call them if you are still interested.
Sometimes emails get lost due to computer glitches, get filtered out by spam filters; sometimes under-staffed non-profit agencies just don't have the manpower to process volunteer applications promptly, which means they can use good volunteers to help out.
Keep it simple: call and let them know you are still interested and would like to know if you can come in and speak with someone about volunteering. Most non-profit agencies provide training for their volunteers, but they might have group training that they only do every month or so. Ask lots of questions about their organization and the types of positions that are available.
Good luck.I sent in an application to volunteer, its been like three weeks, should I make a follow up call?
Absolutely follow up with a call or live visit. I just started training for CASA and i did both. Lots of people think about volunteering and reach out and then never show up so the organizations get a little cautious.
Good luck!
A follow up call would not be out of line, since you volunteered. Emails are not always a given for response.A call in this situation, would be a way to convey sincerity.
Call, give your name, wait for a response to your name, say I m calling to inquire if you have recieved my application for the opening of -------,Has it been filled as of yet?I would like this postion if it is available.
It will give them a opening to look you up in the records,or inform you if it has yet to be determined .Often there is a protocol that may be important to the postion.
yes tell them you are interested in helping.

';Many businesses are starting to throw away applications of made-up names...'; -- true?
Somebody in the 'baby names' section posted:
';Many businesses are starting to throw away applications of made-up names and ';cutesie'; spellings for several reasons.';
But he didn't provide any reasons or references.
True? If yes, why?';Many businesses are starting to throw away applications of made-up names...'; -- true?
In the book ';Freakonomics';, Levitt and Dubner cited a study or three where identical resumes were sent with conventional and unconventional (or ';white'; and ';black';) names, and the conventional/white names had a higher response rate that was statistically significant. Why? This could reflect conscious or unconscious bias. Imagine someone with a ';stripper name';; at the margin, someone might unconsciously think she has less credibility.';Many businesses are starting to throw away applications of made-up names...'; -- true?
It is always best to use your full name on an app instead of a nickname. My company keeps ALL apps for 90 days. I know I never threw out an app because it had a cutsie name on it. In fact, it brought attention to the app. I mainly looked at job history. Less than 6 months at any employer or a string of 1 year here, 1 year there would get you disqualified.

Can any give me good answers for these questions...real or made up. for a job application?
Tell us about... a) something you've done in the past that shows how you'll contribute to the success of Dunkin' Donuts; b) a time you learned something new; c) an instance when you went above and beyond the call of duty; d) a time when you successfully resolved a conflict with a co-worker or friend:Can any give me good answers for these questions...real or made up. for a job application?
In my previous job i was always willing to come in to work when a co-worker called in sick or went on vacation. It allowed the business to operate smoothly without interruption.
A manager allowed me to work as a bookkeeper for one day a week. I could balance a daily ledger.
When a co-worker had a baby, i worked 2 shifts straight that day.
I didn't have any conflicts but other workers would come to me to ';mediate'; their disputes. I was usually able to do it successfully..

Im going into a store to pick up and application but i want to make a good first impression on them....?
so i want to wear somthing that will sorta match the job. its a small (not franchise) boutique near my house that is veryvery small. im guesssing that whoever is working will be the owner or somone close to it, so i want to make a good impression, even though im just asking if they are hiring...
anyways, i want to look good when i go in to talk to them about the application. heres what im thinking:
1) Dark nice jeans with a ivory tank and brown delicate sweater, gold jewlry, gold beaded wedges and my hair would be down with loose curls
2) Black dress that is knee length with gold jewlry and gold beaded wedges and my hair would be the same
only answer if you really will help me with this!!
thankssIm going into a store to pick up and application but i want to make a good first impression on them....?
f you're just going to ask for an application, keep it simple. The big thing is gonna be your attitude. So I wouldn't do a dress...dark jeans and a simple, pretty top generally put off a good vibe. Just make sure you're not overdoing it with the jewelry or makeup - simplicity will make you easier to look at. (Sounds odd, but it's true.) Makeup needs to be simple, too.
As far as attitude goes, be polite. Smile, but be real about it - fake smiles are worse than no smiles. If there's someone coming through the door ahead of you or behind you - make sure you hold it for them. This offers a potential employer a huge impact you could have with the business. And being unnecessarily polite to strangers leaves a good impression.
Best of luck in getting the position.Im going into a store to pick up and application but i want to make a good first impression on them....?
I'd go with the first outfit. The knee length black dress can look a little too contrived while the jean outfit can look like you're just someone who likes to look put together. Good luck!

Should I make a follow up call on my application?
I applied for a job at Old Navy.
I know three people that work there that said they'd put in a good word for me, how are my chances of getting at least an interview?
Anyways - I had to apply online because I went in and they had no paper applications.
At the end it said they would contact me in 3-5 days if they were interested.
That being said, should I make a follow up call? Even at the end of 5 days?
It has been three days.
I don't want to bug them..

How to make macbook applications displayed smaller when opened up?
instead of being normal size when photo booth opens up on the page all i can see is the top portion of it and it wont let me pull it up any higher so i cant even view my photos it didn't used to be like this but all of a sudden it was?How to make macbook applications displayed smaller when opened up?
The PhotoBooth app never changes size in pixels. You must have accidentally changed the screen resolution to 1024x640 or smaller.
Open System Preferences (from the Apple menu icon, Dock or Applications folder), click to the Displays section, and then scroll down the list of resolutions and choose the largest one (should be at the bottom of the list, probably 1280x800).

I turned in an application and made a follow up call what should I do now?
I turned in an application to gamecrazy online and after not hearing from them for a week I called and talked to the manager he said he was hiring and that he was going to look at all the applications and if I turned one in I would be getting a phone call that night or the next morning that was almost 5 days ago and still no call what should I do now?I turned in an application and made a follow up call what should I do now?
based on the fact that he sad he was calling all who applied i would check and see if they are still hiring and refile -- but i also would be looking else where!!!I turned in an application and made a follow up call what should I do now?
well you have 2/3 options
You either assume that you haven't got the job and look for something else
Or you turn in another application - but this could be pushy and annoying
Or you wait another day or two and call again
It could be that the manager has more applications to go through than he expected and so its taking him a long time. Recently I applied for a job and didn't hear anything so I assumed I hadn't got it. More than a month later they have gotten in touch and asked me for an interview. So the moral of this story is - don't completely give up hope on the job, I'd wait another few days then give another call and ask politely if the manager has had a chance to go through the applications because he said he would be in touch over the next 2 days, but its been more than a week and you haven't heard anything

Can you make homelessness application if you have equity tied up in a marital house? but cant stay there.?
It is not appropriate for person to live in house with partner, joint ownership, looking to sell in the future. would a local authority still have duty of care? Can you make homelessness application if you have equity tied up in a marital house? but cant stay there.?
You CAN make an application but whether you get a place depends on the council or housing association. A single male will generally not get a priority.
My ex husband and I were separated and in joint property. He tried to get on the homeless list but was told he would have to wait years for a place (if ever) as he was single and able to work.
We sorted out the problem by me buying him out of the property so he had money to rent in the private sector.
By the way..Stephen C...(2nd answer) you have real issues...seek help please! Can you make homelessness application if you have equity tied up in a marital house? but cant stay there.?
If it is a matter of domestic violence there are many shelters and groups that are willing to provide housing. If not, get a hotel or an apartment until the house sells. You will not qualify for state welfare/homeless benefits if you own a house.
Yes you can. You still havea financial interest in the property, but will need specialist advice about this. Citizens advice can help and advise for free.
Its because of people like u i cant be housed, i gave up every thing to care for an elderly parent and am now homeless. Why should they house you and not me.
A person is homeless if he has no accommodation available for his occupation, in the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, which he is entitled to occupy by virtue of an interest (owners; tenants etc.) in it.
Unless you can argue that it is unreasonable for you to continue to occupy (violence, affordability, etc.) then you are, in law, not homeless. That will remain so until 28 days before your current accommodation is no longer available to you. A simple relationship breakdown would not render you homeless, however uncomfortable it might be to continue in occupation.
The local housing authority still have a duty to assist you in obtaining accommodation, but that will probably be in the private rented sector unless the authority has nomination rights to a registered social landlord.
Do you mean apply for food stamps, monies from the state??? then the answer is no, you cannot apply because you own a home %26amp; have assets on which to rely....so NO....they will tell you that you can go to JOB TRAINING, and get a job or sell your assets if you are that hard up...it is not the local county,and/or state to take care of you, but rather yourself, see thats what is wrong with this country, you people, and I am assuming you are ';white, and/or born here in the U.S.'; ARE always so ready to ask for a handout from the state...FOOD STAMPS etc, but not HISPANICS, they are too proud, even when faced with your situation which many times they are without a job ..... but they pull up their pants so to speak, find work %26amp; deal with life, NOT ASK FOR A HANDOUT

On the Make a baby application on facebook when does your baby grow up? Whats the growth score chart?
I tried to look for it for you but its' not there
the Incubator did say this:
';Hi all,
Totally understand: everyone wants to know about the growth score and when do the babies grow. The score at which you will have the option to have the babies grow older has to be consistent across the entire user base and we are just watching to see how different users' babies growth score is increasing before introducing the feature and the score you need to reach to make sure its fair for everyone.
IN the mean time, to keep things interesting we WILL introduce new items DAILY in the Marketplace! Please check them out.. And see if your baby likes them and what it says in response!';

What makes up an application in visual basic?
Visual Basic uses graphics and functions in the Dot NET framework's libraries. The initial form you get when making a windows form is actually constructed by code that is visible in earlier releases of VB Dot NET. Generally, an application includes the user interface and subroutines called upon by interaction with the UI (and functions called upon within those subroutines).

I recently bought a blendy brush that is a little fluffier than in the picture and the makeup artist told me that it can be used to do the entire face in foundation and blush and pretty much everything else.

They even give a little what it is and how well it works :)
By all means, check out mac or sephora. Brushes vary slightly but that slightly can make a big difference.
Have fun with your makeup~Which make-up brushes are best for application?
Eyes
I just use three brushes and I'm fine.
You can get a blending brush from Sephora which is good for blending (hence the name of the brush) and just applying eyeshadow to the eye. An eyeliner brush is good for liquid eyeliners. I use mine to apply eyeshadow there though. A small all over shadow brush can be sued for anything I guess. Highlighting your brow whatever, the smaller areas.
Face
A giant powder brush is good enough for applying both powder and blush in my opinon
I like Trish McEvoy. So pricey though. Sonia Kashuk is not bad and her brushes are cheap.
ecotools have a very reasonable pricetag and does a good job :)
MAC!
I usually use Q-tips on my eyes just because I have so many colors.. Other than that I use something like this for brow bone and lid color:

Should I make a follow-up call on my online job application?
I applied online for a job at a college, and I can check my application status by signing in on the college's web site. The status says 'in progress' should I still make a follow-up call? And if so, what should I say?Should I make a follow-up call on my online job application?
In my experience, colleges are incredibly slow in the entire hiring process.
Most likely if you called you wouldn't be talking to the actual department that was looking for someone, you'd be talking to the employment division of the college.
I don't really think calling is going to help one bit.Should I make a follow-up call on my online job application?
hiya, I'd give them a call, or if possible even visit them.
Introduce yourself and ask if there was any more information that they need to help your application.
(Take any certificate's or diplomas that may be useful.)
That kind of helps to show that you are keen on the position and that you are a pro-active person happy to help others, qualities that may be required for the post.
good luck

When you volunteer for something....how do you make it show up on your college application?
Like how do you make sure that you got credit for it. Do you get like a paper signed or something? When you volunteer for something....how do you make it show up on your college application?
on the application there should be a section asking for things u do in your free time, work you have done, or extracurricular. thats where u put it.When you volunteer for something....how do you make it show up on your college application?
Most schools don't require ';proof'; of your extracurriculars. So I guess you can say they operate under the honor system.
Well a lot of places you can volunteer generally involve you signing paperwork of some sort, whether it be just a log book or signing wavers. Some High Schools/Honor Societies require that you volunteer and will ask for you to get something signed by your supervisor. For you application, you don't really need to provide any proof. You just write down stuff like where you volunteered, how many hours, etc.

1. From your iPhone or home screen, tap on the Safari icon to get on the Internet.
2. Once you have accessed the Internet, visit any of your favorite websites and press the “+” on the bottom bar.
3. After you have tapped the “+” button, a menu will pop-up with three options, tap “Add to Home Screen” to create the bookmark.

Who should I talk to when I make a follow-up call on my job application?
I have applied at several general stores. I have read a lot about what to say when I call, but nothing about who to talk to. Should I talk to the first employee that answers, or should I request to speak with the person in charge of hiring? Even the manager? Who?...Who should I talk to when I make a follow-up call on my job application?
I don't know how large the stores are, but I'd find out if the manager or whoever handles the hiring has email. If so, I would very politely ask for the email address because you would like to email your resume to him/her.
If you get the email address, I would simply email your resume to that person. Be sure there are NO errors! If, in a week you haven't heard anything, send a very short, polite email saying you just wanted to be sure s/he received the resume and that if they need additional information, you would be very happy to provide it.
If you cannot get an email address, put on really neat, clean clothes and go down to the store(s) and ask if you could have just a moment with the manager. Shake hands and let the person know you are interested in THEIR store, not just any store, and tell them why. Something like, ';I've been shopping here and notice the store is well-kept and organized, and the employees are customer-focused. I am customer focused too and would love to be part of your team.';
Good luck!Who should I talk to when I make a follow-up call on my job application?

Where's the best place to get make-up done/application?
I'm going to my bf's prom in a few weeks and I need/want a professional or at least someone knowledgable about makeup to do my makeup for me. I don't wear a lot of makeup--just the bare basics--so I don't really know how to apply like ';full-on'; makeup myself.
Where would be the best place to get it done well for free/cheap? I wouldn't mind purchasing a few products (I've been wanting to for a while anyways). I heard sephora or MAC were good but I don't know. Where would you recommend specifically?
(please don't just say Macy's or a department store--I would like to know exactly which one)
Thank you!Where's the best place to get make-up done/application?
MAC is a good place but definitely not cheap its $50 and you have to call like 2 weeks in advance thats what i had to do but i cancelled cuz its so expensive. sephora does it for free and i have seen ulta do peoples make up you probably have to buy some products though and i would call ahead of time to make an appointment even if it is free just in caseWhere's the best place to get make-up done/application?
If you have a Kohl's near you, they do makeup application for free, but it's expected that you buy at least one item. Their staff is very knowledgeable, the makeup is excellent quality, and the prices are reasonable. Call and make an appointment no matter where you choose to go. Makeup counters are pretty busy this time of year with proms, graduations, and weddings competing for the same time slots.
Yeah, I would say MAC too- you'll have to buy some stuff but you'll want to buy it anyway, hehe. Spend wisely- I dropped my $$ on a bronzer, lipstick and eyeshadow. Their pigments are concentrated- a yr. later I still have my eyeshadow and lipstick..
Go to MAC. They will do your make up and the cost of the make up application you get in products they used on you in your color.
Yes, call and set up an appointment.
Lancome, They are very professional and Lancome products are very good aswell, your skin looks as if its glowing when theyre finished.
At a make-up counter. Doesn't really matter which one, if the brand is kinda well-known then it's all good. I would go for MAC, or Bobbi Brown.

Can the mathematics GRE make up for a lack of math courses in my records for an economics PhD application?
I did my undergrad at a school where there wasn't any choice to take advanced math courses (outside the US) and my master's in the UK doesn't have a strong math component. Can the GRE in math make up for that in my application? Can the mathematics GRE make up for a lack of math courses in my records for an economics PhD application?
If you have a high score on the GRE math subject test it would suggest good mastery of undergraduate mathematics. That might help get you in (depending upon where you apply) but they still may want you to take math courses to make up deficiencies.
The hard part is that it is not easy to get a high score on the GRE subject test without knowing the undergraduate curriculum reasonably well. Many with a good BA or BS in math do not do particularly well on the test.
Now, my comments above refer to the GRE math subject test. The math part of the regular GRE does not cover subjects such as calculus (which are important in economics), so a high score there might not be good enough (again, depending upon where you are applying -- some universities might be more willing to accept you and let you make up the math than others).

On myspace, how do i make an application NOT show up on my profile?
that's basically it.On myspace, how do i make an application NOT show up on my profile?
Well first off, when you add an app it should give you some options before you add it. There's a checkbox next to each option, and one option is to display the app on your profile. Just uncheck the box before you add the app and it won't show up on your profile.
If an app is already showing on your profile and you want to remove it, go to your homepage (the place it takes you right after you log in) then go to the top and put the mouse cursor over ';profile'; but don't click. A menu should drop down and the last thing should say ';My Apps';. Click on this and it will take you to a page that lists all your apps. You'll notice that next to each app it will say ';settings';. Click on this then uncheck the boxes you don't want. Click ';Update'; and it should be gone off your profile. On myspace, how do i make an application NOT show up on my profile?

Mainly I want some tips on what colours would suit my eyes/lips! I keep being told my bottom lip is ';unusually big'; but I love it! People pay botox for my bottom lip lol
But I generally stick to clear lipgloss, mascara and a little bit of eyeliner but I feel black is way too heavy for me.
I'm not great with make-up so if you could explain an easy way to put it on that would be great lol.
I'm like 17 and pretty much a make-up virgin!

brown eyeshadow would look awesome, and bring out the green
try putting eyeshadow on your lids. use three colors.
you can get eyeshadow by covergirl and its not expensive, it has 3 or 4 different colors of eyeshadow in one package
so the first color is white- use it to highlight
put it under your eyebrows, blend it in so its not actually all white. its supposd to be sutle
then take a light brown or any color, as long as its light and put it all over your eyelid
then take a darker brown or any color as long as its darker, and put it in the crease of your eye and then blend it in with the shadow on your lid
or-
you can put half one color on half the lid, then the other half. heres a pic for an example
http://www.temptalia.com/images/2007/mak鈥?/a>
so the shadows on half and half instead of being the other way around...its light gold going vertical then dark brown vertical instead of light gold horizontal on the entire lid and dark horizontal
hope that made some scence lolHelp with make-up colours/application? (photos)?
you're doing great! Try wearing earthy flowiny clothing, your hair down, and some brown and green, MAYBE purple (like manga/anime purple that they use for eye colors :P. Don't know if they sell a color that pretty though :P...). Ooooooh! If i'm imagining right, that looks VERY nice on u :D! Btw i like ur hair and u have really pretty eyes :D.
hey hun go to this girls youtube.. she has LOTS of different looks and she explains how to do it step by step.. i was looking up smokey eyes yesterday and found her.. i did one of the looks today and it worked awesome!! http://au.youtube.com/user/kuuipo1207

put it under your eyebrows, blend it in so its not actually all white. its supposd to be sutle
then take a light brown or any color, as long as its light and put it all over your eyelid
then take a darker brown or any color as long as its darker, and put it in the crease of your eye and then blend it in with the shadow on your lid
or-
you can put half one color on half the lid, then the other half. heres a pic for an example
http://www.temptalia.com/images/2007/mak鈥?/a>
so the shadows on half and half instead of being the other way around...its light gold going vertical then dark brown vertical instead of light gold horizontal on the entire lid and dark horizontal
hope that made some scence lolHelp with make-up colours/application? (photos)?
you're doing great!

Make up color / application?
I have med. skin, dark brown hair, brown eyes, really full lips.... my make up is typically in the browns and naturals.... feeling really frumpy, any ideas?Make up color / application?
You can do anything you want, really. Purples are bound to look good, but I've also seen women with your complexion and haircolor go for deep raspberry colors and look great. You could also go for nice, warm reds or metallic coppers. If you're feeling very daring, try a light eyeliner color, like silver or white, which looks especially good with cooler colors like berries and plums.
I'd also suggest getting a mary kay makeover done- they've got some really gorgeous looks for darker skinned women. Failing that, I know there are some makeup counters who can help you out there, too.Make up color / application?
well purples, pinks, and turquoise looks reeeally good on your skin.. also dont wear clear gloss, wear a med. light-ish type of gloss or lipstick
Virtual Makeover. You can play around with colors and find a look you will love. Then it shows you how to apply your new look. Just click the link below.
try some green eye shadow sometimes, but dont make it look clowny. try some black eyeliner or play up your lips with some pretty lip gloss. its probably just in your mind that youre plain though. and even if u are, its better to be plain than ugly
If you are afraid of color, try eyeliners. Start off with a deep hunter (green), navy, or plum. Then move into metalics, or lighter colors. They will prepare you for colorful shadows.
Yes, as said above! Violets and purple tones works well for me too and I have the same skin tones as you. I use bronze/natural colors on my cheeks and a deep purple color by lancome on my eyes along with a shimmer brown in the crease above the purple. It really brings out my brown eyes...
Dark Purple..Black and lavender..sounds bad..but your darker eyes and med skin tone will hold these colors well. Your about the same coloring as me..I am Italian...use one of the three color sets from Loreal or Revlon...medium color on lid, darker in the crease and light on brow...then take either a darker purple or black...and add a wedge to the corner of each eye...and to make your eyes look wider..deepen the crease with a thin dust of color to darken and deepen it. Works great for me...Take Care
I think rich violets and purples will look good with your skin and eyes.

You really have to get high test scores, maybe do some extracurriculars to beef up the application.

Does anyone have any make-up tips, for choice and application?
this includes mascarea, fondation, also tips on things like smokyeyes, blemishing cover - up, thank you xxDoes anyone have any make-up tips, for choice and application?
mascara:
-you don't need a high quality mascara because they all pretty much have the same effects, so don't spend too much money on mascara.
-if you want to curl your lashes, curl them first, apply mascara, curl them again, and apply mascara again.
-i really recommend a mascara brush too (really cheap, like $2) to get all the clumps out.
foundation:
-make sure you use a primer before applying foundation. i really really recommend it because your foundation will apply a lot more even and stay on longer.
*AMAZING primer: http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>
MAC Prep + Prime Skin
-don't be cheap with foundation. high quality foundation might be expensive but if you get a cheap brand that can make your skin irritated and cause you to break out.
-i suggest using a pressed powder foundation because they apply very even and stay on longer than loose powders but look more natual than liquid foundation.
As for smokey eyes, don't use too much eyeliner, it's all in the eyeshadow and the way you blend it. I think grey/black smokey eyes are a lot less pretty than black/brown smokey eyes because it looks less dramatic but still very pretty %26amp; edgy.
Blemishing cover up, concealer concealer concealer!
Apply concealer over your foundation PRIMER, then after you put on concealer, apply your foundation.
I suggest a stick or liquid concealer,
preferably http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>
MAC Select Cover Up Concealer
from personal experience.
Hope that helped.Does anyone have any make-up tips, for choice and application?

Is a woman's daily application of make-up a form of self loathing?
What is the pysocological aspects of make-up?
If its obvious a woman is wearing a cosmetics then who is fooling who?Is a woman's daily application of make-up a form of self loathing?
I don't wear much make-up but if i do put a little on, it's to accentuate my good points I hope- it's like dressing up- a bit theatrical I suppose.
I've never worn make-up to bed- except after a party with a hangover! Heavy make-up and a reliance on being made-up can show a lack of confidence in one's looks and also act as a mask to hide behind in some cases I feel.Is a woman's daily application of make-up a form of self loathing?
In this day and age some women wear makeup to look attractive to themselves, the opposite or the same sex.
Anthropologically it has always been the male of the species who wore or had color (like birds, rulers) to specify position or attract mates. Women adopted the practice.
Most women I know who choose to wear makeup see it as part of their appearance like the way they style their hair, the clothes they wear, etc.
In Egypt, for example, when there was a female Pharaoh she wore makeup like the male kings did.
Interesting to note, given your question, that men in many middle eastern countries wear makeup. Are they self-loathing? Not the ones I know! And most of them are very straight.
You may not have noticed this but wearing make up can often turn plain janes into quite stunning women. That's why the cosmetics industry is mega rich. But yes, it is centred around hype and the like. The fact remains that most women look a damn site more appealing with make up on ..... no one denies it is there either. Of course, some women have natural beauty and will never need more than a splash of colour. And it makes women feel good about themselves as well. There is no attempt to fool, only embellish!
Actually, I think you may have a point.
I used to wear a lot of makeup as I felt more confident when I had it on, because it does enhance the better features and disguise the not so flattering blemishes.
So therefore, in a way I wasn't happy with the way I looked without it. I wouldn't say I loathed the way I looked but I didn't feel 'special' if I didn't wear it.
These days my self-esteem has improved considerably, but I still wear some makeup. I like to wear eye make up because it opens my eyes up and my eyes are my most beautiful feature.
But it was never about fooling anyone. I always knew it was superficial, and I assume everyone else did too.
It is much more pelasant looking at a face that has been subtlely painted than looking at a plain uninspiring face.
I think you have confused ';makeup'; and ';cosmetics';.
Cosmetics cover stuff up and are a base for makeup to be applied to, I have an 8 inch visible scar that I cover with expensive cosmetics, concealer and foundation, then, when the canvas is clean and smooth, then I apply my makeup.
Makeup is used to enhance natural features, to make the face look seductive, to exaggerate the sexual features... Nice red lips and come to bed eyes, it's a sexual invitation.
Both cosmetics and makeup play a vital role in the wellbeing of the girl. To know you look as good as possible, to know you have taken the time to look your best are important factors when it comes to your own awareness of your public image, and ultimatley your self confidence and self esteem.
Other people can also see you have taken the time to look your best, it's close to a mark of respect.... The made up person saying ';See... I have spent time and effort to look as pleasing as possible for you';, and the on-looker thinking ';you have put in time and made an effort for me';.
We don't call it war paint for nothing!!!!!
im a guy but i do my hair nice and wear nice clothes - not expensive ones but i wear the clothes i like, and i look after myself.
everyone wants to look their best and if it does a lot for the then go for it ladies! i think it has nothing to do with self loathing and ur more likely to have that if you DONT care how you look..
That seems a little harsh. Don't most women wear make-up to enhance their looks?
bill t not everyone wears it to attract the opposite sex actually a lot of women wear it cause it gives them confidence and makes them feel better about themselves nothing to do with attracting other men etc
Makeup is not loathing or trying to fool someone. It just makes me more comfortable
no..its more like a peacock apreading his tail feathers

What is a group of files that make up a software application?
There is usually an installer program, the executable program itself, library files, resource files, configuration files and documentation.
This is a very broad question and this answer is just as broad. What is a group of files that make up a software application?
what is that supposed to mean? Any type of file can become part of a software application if it is used in the core part of the program....your question doesn't make sense.
A software application can be made up of an EXE file (all windows applications have this) and the rest such as DLL files are there only if needed.computer security

Any proffesional make up tips/application tips etc.?
i have blue eys and blonde hair and pale skinAny proffesional make up tips/application tips etc.?
I think having blonde hair and blue eyes you can pretty much get away with any colour...who's to say just because you have those colours you have to STICK with one colour.
For foundation on pale skin....to test for colour dab on your jawline the less noticeable the better...otherwise you will get a tacky orange line.
Once applied use a blush of pink over your cheeks to give yourself some colour or a bronzer to give yourself a tanned glow.
My best advice is to apply all make up....even foundation with a brush...it gives a flawless professional make up artisit look and that way you're protecting your skin from spreading germs on your fingers.Any proffesional make up tips/application tips etc.?
Eyeshadow for blue eyes and blonde hair.
For blue eyes and blond hair the best looking eyeshadow colors are violets and lavenders or neutral tones. Use the violet on the lid and in the crease of the eyelid. Use the lighter color lavender above the crease to the eyebrow bone for a dramatic night look. Use natural colors for daytime.
Eyeshadow recommendation for blue eyes and blond hair: Natural tones for day and purple hue's for night!
Go onto websites of designer makeup they usually have a tips for different complexions, the lancome sites even have video tutorials on how to apply make-up correctly.

What can be done if you do not like the way a permanent make-up application looks?
While at the mall I saw a sign for permanent make-up applications. The list included eye liner and eye brow pencil. I have put eye liner on every day and it hardly ever comes out the same exact way every time. Some days I really like the way it went on that day and other days I feel like removing it and starting over. I like the idea of having it permanently on but what happens if you don't like the way it went on? Is it like tatooed on?What can be done if you do not like the way a permanent make-up application looks?
I'm not sure if what they're advertising is the same thing I've seen, but yes, it's tattooed on. Some spas offer this...it's really semi-permanent, the ink can last anywhere from 6 months to 7 years! I think the eye liner is just a thin line tattooed on for daily wear, nothing fancy. And I wouldn't dabble with tattooed brows, they look fake and I don't prefer the way the end product looks.
My suggestion: go check out the business. I'm sure they have a portfolio and plenty of time to give you a consultation if you're interested. What can be done if you do not like the way a permanent make-up application looks?

Where can I find tips on make-up application?
I am a pre-op transexual male, about to go fulltime female and start my transition process that will hopefully result in full reassignment surgery in 2 years time. Whilst I am fully prepared for the difficultroad ahead I do have an issue with my appearance. I am only 5'10'; tall and slim build with small hands and feet so should be able to pass quite easily but am paranoid that when I use make-up I look like a transvestite and not a real woman. I guess every woman has made make-up errors but its usually when they are a teenager and get away with it - I am still making those same basic mistakes now - where can I find out good advice and tips to help me make the most of my features to ensure that I pass in public - I don't want to be ridiculed! :sWhere can I find tips on make-up application?
You can look up makeup gurus on youtube, type in tips on makeup application on yahoo, some womens magazines have tips and their websites have sections and forums for makeup, you can buy books from a good bookshop that are makeup books and contain lots of different techniques from makeup artists and lots of nice looks. Theres a website called ivillage that has a beauty section and if you look up makeup looks on youtube or a video site you should be able to find some great advice. I'm not that great at applying makeup either haha so i always look for tips too. Hope all goes well, good luck :DWhere can I find tips on make-up application?

I am terrible at make-up application. Is there any websites that give in-depth instructions on how to apply i?
I have a fair complexion and I always end up looking like a clown. The best color for me to wear is pink but I have no idea if I have pink, gold, or whatever color undertones. How do you tell?? I burn if I'm exposed to sun, but I also get pretty dark if I tan gradually. There is a little American Indian in my background. Most people say I have a porcelain complexion. What would be the best colors for eye shadow or eyeliner. I always feel like I look like a vampire.I am terrible at make-up application. Is there any websites that give in-depth instructions on how to apply i?

youtube is the best way to go. but you can also go to macys or sephora or mac and have them do your makeup so you know what works. then you can buy or make note of the colors they use. im latina but i also burn if i stay in the sun too long, but gradually, i might pick up a golden look. but i do have some color naturally. and as far as looking like a vamp, try brown eye liner instead of black. go on youtube and search eyeshadow tutorials or makeup tutorials or anything along those lines.
allsooo, be prepares to waste some money!!! i just started learning how to apply make up, and here is a little estimate-

It sounds as if you might be Summer....because you are so fair and wear pink well, You can get with someone else and look at your hands and arms and tell if you have 'blue' undertones or 'golden' undertones. They will need to not be really fair in order for you to do this test. But I am considered ';Spring'; and I have the golden undertones, whereas my friend has the ';blue'; undertones'; and she is considered ';Winter'; because of her skin and her hair coloring. ARE YOU BLONDE? If you are, then, you definitely are ';Summer';....
Some people that read this will not understand this reasoning, but I hope you do.
I love giving make-up advice and I even give my friends make overs! I would say that the best colors for eyeshadow would be yellows, pastel pinks, golds and even some peach colors. For eyeliner, try using browns for a more natural look. Use a pencil first and then you can line it with liquid. You can also use eyeshadow as eyeliner. If you were to apply a pastel pink for shadow then use a purple on the rim of your eye as eyeliner. I hope this helps you!

I have always found youtube to be a good source (for some things.) Go to youtube.com and search for ';makeup tutorials'; and you will get a lot of results.I am terrible at make-up application. Is there any websites that give in-depth instructions on how to apply i?
youtube
youtube is the best way to go. but you can also go to macys or sephora or mac and have them do your makeup so you know what works. then you can buy or make note of the colors they use. im latina but i also burn if i stay in the sun too long, but gradually, i might pick up a golden look. but i do have some color naturally. and as far as looking like a vamp, try brown eye liner instead of black. go on youtube and search eyeshadow tutorials or makeup tutorials or anything along those lines.
allsooo, be prepares to waste some money!!! i just started learning how to apply make up, and here is a little estimate-
urban decay deluxe eye shadow box- 36
120 makeup palette pro- 30ish
NYX 3 shade palettes- about 9 each
NYX jumbo pencils- 1.50 each
Urban Decay Primer Potion- 34ish
NYC cream blush- less than 10, over 5
brushes, tooo much to keep up with
and plenty more stuff!!!!!!!! cheap makeup: eyeslipsface.com - only a dollar! good to start off. other favs cherryculture.com, sephora.com, costalscents.com, ebay, jessesgirlcosmetics.com and thats good for starting.

Thanks so much!Make-up application?
1) wash your face with a face scrub... this will exfoilate the skin, remove dead/dried skin and leave a smooth canvas for you to apply makeup
2) apply a face astringent (Clean %26amp; Clear's blue face astringent is great, can also use a drugstore brand) and then a face moisturizer (preferably an anti-acne one).
3) buy a full-coverage concealer (try Almay's 16 hr. blemish fighting concealer wand) and apply to red areas or pimples.
4) use a foundation brush or makeup sponge to apply the Maybelline Wonder Finish. be sure to blend into your hair line and under your chin so you don't get the ';orange line'; on your jaw line or around your face.
5) use a kabuki or stippling brush to buff your Dream Matte Powder on over your foundation.
6) (optional) apply bronzer and/or blush if desired.
7) using a damp cotton ball or wash cloth wipe off excess powder on our hair line and eyebrows!
8) apply a primer to your eye lids so your eye shadow will not crease (if you do not have a primer a little concealer will work too).
9) apply eye shadow as desired
10) apply a brown/black or black (depending on your hair color) eyeliner to your upper lash line.
11) apply glitter eyeliner into the inner corner of your eyelids and on the bottom lash line.
12) curl lashes and coat on mascara!
DONE!

Can you make up stuff on your college application?
Do colleges really double-check if you really did all the extra-curricular activities that you listed or can you make some of it up?Can you make up stuff on your college application?
Please don't! If they don't catch it during the screening process, they might later. Why would you want that hanging over your head?
Instead, look at things that you were involved in and look for learning that took place. These don't have to be defined extra curricular activities...did you have a part time job, take care of a neighbor's pet, volunteer for church play a sport? Examine what you've done and why you're a better person because of it.
Colleges want to see that you can apply what you learned in one setting to other aspects of your life. This is far better than a laundry list of clubs! Can you make up stuff on your college application?
The UC schools in California have a whole building full of people doing exactly that. Paying for that is part of what the application fee covers.
You might get away with it at some schools but any false statement found on an application will result in instant rejection no matter how good your grades are.
Academic integrity is taken seriously by most schools.
I wouldn't completely make it up. If you weren't involved at all in high school, don't list eight clubs that you weren't even in. However, I wouldn't worry too much about stretching things.. like saying that you were a member of Debate for all 4 years, when you were actually in it for less than 2. And don't fudge things that are extremely important, of course.
Never lie on an application if they do check it looks bad on you and its not that important to have other activities but it does look better.
hmmm..I have my masters and I really don't think they look to hard---they just check your transcript

Steps for Make-up Application?
Help me? (=
I'm 13 and i need tips.
I have normal, fair skin.
Going for a Natural and pretty look.Steps for Make-up Application?
Start by applying a small amount of liquid makeup or concealer around and under your eyes. Make sure any makeup you use matches your skin tone; I know from experience that when your skin is fair it can be very easy to look orange. If your skin is normal, you should be able to get away with very little foundation; just use a soft foundation brush to apply a light or translucent powder all over, including around your eyes to set the concealer so it doesn't smudge off or crease.
Now, what you do around your eyes depends on how much definition you're looking for. For a subtle definition, try a nude liner, or a light brown, drawing a thin line at your lash line. To do this, place your finger at the outer corner of your eye and pull your lid taut. Then, carefully use the liner pencil to carefully fill in your lash line. My older sister taught me to place the tip of the pencil so it feels like you're drawing on the roots of your lashes themselves. Whatever you do will look different when your eye is open, so check a time or two to make sure you're not being too heavy handed.
To open up your eyes, apply a light shadow in the inner corners of your eyes, in a V shape., and under your brow arch. Completely optional, but it does help.
Use a liner brush and a matching shadow to trace over your line. This will set your liner and ensure it doesn't slide off or smudge. Finish off with a brown mascara, brownish-black if you prefer. Be careful not to be too heavy handed with the wand; you may even need to wipe some excess off the wand before.
Use a brow brush to groom your eyebrows; they frame your eye area, so it's important for them to be well-groomed.
Finish with a nude lip gloss, or even just a lip balm.
Overall, what you do and how you do it will vary as you get more experienced. This should give you a good place to start from, though.
Good luck. =]

Step-by-step make up application?
okay tell me if this is right?
1.wash my face
2.apply face moisturizer
3.apply liquid concealer, blend with sponge and let dry
4.apply liquid foundation,blend with sponge
5.and then apply powder?with a poweder brush
and whats the best coverage liquid or powder foundation?
how can i keep my eye liner from always smudging off my eye?Step-by-step make up application?
you're doing everything right :)
i think the best liquid foundation is revlon colorstay
http://www.revlon.com/ProductCatalog/Sub鈥?/a>
and the best powder foundation (in my opinion) is MAC's studio fix powder plus foundation.
http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.鈥?/a>
and as for the smudging i'd suggest using a primer such as:
urban decay primer potion
too faced shadow insurance
loreal de-crease
coastalscents.com's eye poxy shadow primer
hope i've helped :)Step-by-step make up application?
Sounds good to me. You can actually even put the concealer over the foundation. That way you'll use less concealer. Traditionally powders don't give tons of coverage, so stick to the liquid if you're looking for something a bit more opaque. And if you're looking for a way to keep your eye liner from smudging, try setting it with an eyeshadow of the same color. Hope that helped! Good luck!
your steps are good
bare minerals is amazing
liquid eyeliner never smudges for me well when its dry

Swollen eyelids after make up application at Sephora ... what gives?
I had my eyes done at Sephora over the weekend just for fun. (Cargo Smokey Eyes kit) The next morning when I woke up my eyelids were swollen and huge!! I slept with ice on them last night but it didn't help. They were still swollen this morning and even now! Anyone know why this would have happened? And what can I do to help with the swelling? I don't have any allergies so I didn't think it was a reaction but now I'm not so sure.Swollen eyelids after make up application at Sephora ... what gives?
It could be allergies, even though you don't have
any it could be from the eyeshadow. If the puffiness
doesn't go away soon, go back to Sephora and tell
them what happened. They are make up artists they
should be able to give you some names of creams
or anything to help your face. If they recommend you
to try a product there, don't. If that doesn't work go to
your dermatologist they should be able to prescribe
you some creams, or better yet your doctor. For the
puffiness, try some eyedrops to soothe the eyes and
dip your face in a bucket of cold water, this helps the
puffiness of the eyes, and it refreshes the face.Swollen eyelids after make up application at Sephora ... what gives?
WOW that sux! What brand was it they put on you? You may have found something you are allergic to after all!
My guess would be bismuth oxychloride, an ingredient found in bare minerals, sheer cover, loreal, arbonn, avon, etc.....
I have to stay away from it. Makes me itch like crazy.
I use LA Minerals products exclusively and no more probs.
You probably are allergic. It may have been one of the dyes in the e/s. A lot of people are allergic to a certain color of dye. I'd suggest you test new e/s on your hand overnight before using them just to test that you're not allergic. Or you could possibly just have sensitive eyes, but I'm not sure. Ask your doctor if it gets worse!
You are either allergic, or they used dirty brushes/applicators on you and you have an irritation of some sort. I never use anything at those stores for that reason, no testers. Dirty brushes can transmit diseases etc. You can get herpes of the eye or mouth.
Makeup has all kinds of weird stuff in it. If you knew what was really in makeup you would throw up and you would only use natural stuff. I'm not going to tell you whats in it because the all natural make up sucks. Anyways 2 things could have happened. 1) The lady was too rough on your sensitive eyelids. 2) you are allergic to something in that particular makeup. It should go away soon, just stop touching your eyelids. Don't use that makeup any more.
sounds like an allergic reaction...bummer...you should take some benadryl or an allergy medicine. that should provide relief temporarily. the smart thing to do is to see a doctor. i would try to get your money back and stop using that product.
That would be a good guess. But I'm thinking maybe an eye infection or pink eye. You should see your doctor to get medical intention so your eyes can get proper medication.
I've had this experience several times. The Scenario always the same:
I warn cosmetologist that my eyes are very sensitive.
They give me the pitch about how their perfect product is this and isn't that, then plunge ahead spending too much time, putting too much gunk on my eyes.
VOILA, my eyes begin to weep buckets.
It's better if it happens right at the counter. Unfortunately, it usually takes place after you've left the store or salon. How arrogant can they be to presume that you won't have a reaction! It's not Okay. Demand your money back.
an allergic reaction
Ohh wow it really sounds like you are allergic though how painful!! I would get my money back if you had to pay for anything!!
You are allergic to them. Don't use Sephora again. Next time, before using another cosmetic, put a dab on your wrist. If after two minutes your wrist has reddened, do not use it.

Any good sites for make-up application?
Here is basically everything you could want to know:Any good sites for make-up application?
I really love Kevin Aucoin, I own his books absolutely fabulous work! There is a site, but the book is a keepsake I often use his eye techniques.

Basically ANY Product Line has a ';how-to'; section on their site.. I really like the MAC website because it has a diagram that shows you where to use each color.. MaryKay, Avon, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics ALSO have great application tips %26amp; pics to follow. If your really looking for something a little more 'out of the box' as far as application or Shading / Contouring the face I'd turn to a makeup book. ';Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin'; is good as well as ';Plastic Surgery Without the Surgery: The Miracle of Makeup Techniques';. The books are kinda pricey but they are an investment when you have that much makeup knowledge at your hands! :) Have fun!!
I am a huge fan of http://www.specktra.net/
They have an online community you can join, ask questions, post pics of yourself for critiques, and a large number of tutorials to hep with makeup aplication!
