What is a group of files that make up a software application?

There is usually an installer program, the executable program itself, library files, resource files, configuration files and documentation.

This is a very broad question and this answer is just as broad. What is a group of files that make up a software application?
what is that supposed to mean? Any type of file can become part of a software application if it is used in the core part of the program....your question doesn't make sense.

A software application can be made up of an EXE file (all windows applications have this) and the rest such as DLL files are there only if needed.
