I need help with make up application?

I have a very important job interview tomorrow and I do not know much about application of make up, I really didn't own much of anything so I went out and bought all new makeup. I dont want to look like a streetwalker but I want to make a good impression. I have foundation and it came with a power compact. I have practiced putting it on, but the power looked bad, was it suppose to go on under the foundation?

I bought different colors of lipstick from pink to topaz.

I am 47 years old, but many people think I look around 35, maybe its because I never used soap or or tons of makeup al these year.

Can anyone give me advice about the proper way to apply make up so I can look professional but not over done? This job interview if is for a professional manager position .

I can post a photo of what I look like with out make up id anyone want to see it.I need help with make up application?
Since you are just starting out, I am going to give you a few tips to give you a soft, neutral, polished face that is easy to do. Practice in the mirror a few times, tonight. Don't try to go in cold, in the morning.

If you need foundation, apply it smoothly and evenly to get just enough coverage. You don't want a thick, cakey masque. Make sure you blend it thoroughly. You can use a makeup sponge or your fingers. Take it down past your jawline onto your throat and neck and blend it out. Powder, lightly over your foundation after it sets for a couple of minutes. Go easy. If you aren't too oily, you may just need a little on your forehead, chin and nose. If you don't like how the powder looks, just skip it.

Make sure you groom your brows. Just pluck them into a pleasing, natural shape, (when starting out, less plucking is better than more) then use a little clear brow gel to define and hold them in place. If you don't have brow gel, a little hairspray on an old toothbrush will do the trick.

For your eyes, pick a soft, neutral taupe, apply it with an eyeshadow brush, if you have one. If you just have the sponge applicators, pick up just a little colour, apply lightly from your lash line to just above the crease in your eyelid. Blend. Now, pick up a slightly darker value of that colour and apply in the crease and just a tiny bit above, from just out of the inner corner to the outer corner. Don't wing it out past the outside corner of your eye. Blend. Using a clean side, pick up a light, slightly shimmery colour and apply softly up under your brow to highlight your eye. Now, using a brush or a q-tip, blend softly so there are no lines.

Use a liner pencil to make a soft line, just above your lashes, from the inner to outer corner of your upper lids, only. Apply a soft coat of mascara to your lashes. Do an even softer coat for your bottom lashes.

Apply blush with a brush starting with a very tiny amount of colour on the brush at your apples of your cheeks, applying and blending upward along your cheekbone until you just hit your hairline. Apply your blush very sparingly, check it, then add a little more if needed. It is easier to add a little than to take it off. :) Don't forget to blend.

Apply a lipstick or gloss to your lips that closely matches your natural lip colour. Now is not the time to play with bright or new colours. :)

Keep your colours very soft and neutral. Blend, blend, blend. Less is more, It doen't take a whole lot of colour to look pulled together and polished.

You want to knock them out with your mad skillz. Not your makeup. :)

Good luck with your interview! Knock them dead.

I hope this helps a little.I need help with make up application?
You definitely want to look professional and polished for this important interview. If you look 12 years younger than you are then chances are you have great skin so there might be no need for heavy foundation =) You can try diluting the foundation with a little bit of face moisturizer so that it is sheer and your skin can still show through. The powder is used after foundation to set the makeup...be sure to apply lightly because you don't want it to look cakey.

I would recommend a little blush to bring some color to your face. Choose a natural pink or peachy color. Smile into the mirror and lightly apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks...make sure to blend so that there are no streaks.

Curl your lashes and add 2 coats of mascara to make your eyes pop! As for lips use a neutral lip liner if you want and make sure to use your finger to blend the line so that you don't have that dark lip liner look. You can apply lipstick straight from the tube or use a lip brush for better application. Follow up with some gloss if you desire.

Everything I recommended is pretty natural and should be easy to acheive. I don't think there is a need to go heavy on makeup if you don't normally wear it. You want to still look like yourself but just more polished.

Good luck!!!
first of all.. all the applicators you got with the makeup... throw them away... they stink. your better off getting cheap brushes or using your fingers.. for the foundation, i hope its your same skin color or you will have the demarcation line on your jaw line. put that on lightly, to even your skin and correct blemishes. if you have any big blemishes, use a concealer and dab it on with your ring finger. then, take a powder brush and put some powder on your face to hold the foundation in. if your skin is dry, dont use the powder. for your lips, use the color of he inside of your lip. makesure you put on chapstickbefore lipstick so you dont get all dry. then just do two coats of mascara, and good luck with your new job! any other makeup issues? use the link and email me
