I don't know how large the stores are, but I'd find out if the manager or whoever handles the hiring has email. If so, I would very politely ask for the email address because you would like to email your resume to him/her.
If you get the email address, I would simply email your resume to that person. Be sure there are NO errors! If, in a week you haven't heard anything, send a very short, polite email saying you just wanted to be sure s/he received the resume and that if they need additional information, you would be very happy to provide it.
If you cannot get an email address, put on really neat, clean clothes and go down to the store(s) and ask if you could have just a moment with the manager. Shake hands and let the person know you are interested in THEIR store, not just any store, and tell them why. Something like, ';I've been shopping here and notice the store is well-kept and organized, and the employees are customer-focused. I am customer focused too and would love to be part of your team.';
Good luck!Who should I talk to when I make a follow-up call on my job application?
Ask to talk to the manager and when they answer say ';I applied for a job _____ (last week/on monday/etc) and I was calling to see what the status of my application was and if I can possibly get an interview';
